Yellow Brass

Yellow brass is the most commonly used and seen mainly in plumbing fixtures. Yellow brass, typically, contains between 60-70% copper, 30-40% zinc, and a very small amount of lead and tin.

Common Examples:
Brass Sheets
Castings
Rods
Tubing

Tips:
When bringing in yellow brass for scrap, it must be clean of all steel, iron, plastic, and other attachments in order to avoid being charged for brass breakage. Similar to
red brass, check to verify the material is brass and not steel or aluminum by using a magnet and file.
